West Ham ‘are interested in Man City wonderkid Cole Palmer and forward could be used as a makeweight in talks over Lucas Paqueta after £70m bid’
- Manchester City youngster Cole Palmer is wanted by several clubs this summer
- West Ham are said to be keen to sign him, either on loan or in a permanent deal
- He could be used as a makeweight in Lucas Paqueta’s potential switch to City
West Ham are interested in Manchester City forward Cole Palmer and the youngster could be included as a makeweight in talks over Lucas Paqueta, reports claim.
Wonderkid Palmer, who scored City’s only goal in their Community Shield defeat by Arsenal at Wembley, will be hopeful of more game time this season after bursting onto the scene under Pep Guardiola and impressing in his sporadic appearances.
However, with City actively working on a deal to lure Paqueta from the London Stadium, Palmer may once again find himself forced to settle for a bit-part role.
As a result, West Ham will look to include the 21-year-old in negotiations with City over talisman Paqueta, either on loan or as part of a permanent move.
That is according to the Evening Standard, who add that David Moyes may play Jarrod Bowen as a striker and deploy Palmer down the right wing instead.

Palmer has been particularly effective when cutting in from the same flank, having jinked inside and beaten Aaron Ramsdale with a superb effort at the weekend.
He is a seasoned international for England’s U21s and has also attracted attention from the likes of Brighton, Burnley and Leicester this summer, various reports say.
The starlet has been non-committal when questioned on his short-term future.
‘Have to see what the plan is for next season, see where I am playing and hopefully play as many games as possible,’ he said after City’s recent loss.
‘Hopefully we can win the treble again but that will be a difficult task. The lads have been sharp in training and hopefully we can do it all over again.’

Paqueta is keen to join City but West Ham chairman David Sullivan is reluctant to let him leave
Paqueta, meanwhile, wants to join City this summer, Mail Sport understands. However, West Ham are keen to keep him despite a £70million bid being lodged.
The midfielder became a key player under David Moyes last season, helping the club to their Europa Conference League triumph, and is a shock name on City’s shortlist.
And as a result, West Ham chairman David Sullivan is determined not to sell him.
Having lost captain Declan Rice to Arsenal, Sullivan does not want to let another key player slip away to a Premier League rival and is, at least for now, standing firm.
