Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer demanded more from his players in their frustrating 2-2 draw against Southampton on Monday night. The Red Devils chief even urged January signing Bruno Fernandes, who has been sensational since joining, to improve.

United had the chance to move up to third in the Premier League if they beat Southampton at Old Trafford.

However, the Red Devils blew their opportunity to gain a lead on their top four rivals.

Solskjaer was visibly frustrated after the draw – and the United boss felt the same throughout the game.

The Norwegian demanded more from Fernandes after the midfielder misplaced a pass meant for Marcus Rashford, the Athletic claim.

“Bruno! Hey! Come on!” Solskjaer shouted at United’s January signing.

It must be the first time Solskjaer has said such a thing to Fernandes since the Portugal international joined in January.

The 25-year-old has been sensational for United, netting seven goals and chipping in with seven assists in 11 Premier League starts.

The draw against Southampton leaves United fifth in the Premier League, level on points with Leicester in fourth.

“We played some fantastic football at times, but football is decided by key moments in games.
