Wolfsburg will hold out for their £43m price-tag for Tottenham target Micky Van de Ven, as negotiations between the clubs continue.
The Netherlands U21 star has been on the radar of Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou for some time and held positive talks with the Bundesliga side last week.
Spurs have offered £30million plus add-ons for the Netherlands U21 star and had been hopeful that would be enough to secure his services.
However, Wolfsburg will look to push Tottenham for the £43million price-tag which they’ve set for the central defender.
Spurs have been keen to add a defender to their squad this summer and have been closely monitoring the situation of Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba.

The Leverkusen defender has been on Tottenham’s shortlist throughout the summer window but is priced higher than his Dutch counterpart.
Van de Ven, 22, enjoyed a stellar breakout 2022-23 season, where he started 33 Bundesliga games for the Wolves, sparking interest from clubs across Europe.
Liverpool were also reportedly interested in pursuing a deal, but it now appears Tottenham have come out ahead in the race for the Wolfsburg star.
Van de Ven was part of the recent Netherlands U21 squad at the European Championships that saw the nation draw all three group stage matches and exit the competition.
Tottenham have been keen to add to their defensive options after a disappointing campaign saw them concede 63 goals – the most in the top-half.
New manager Ange Postecoglou has already seen the difficulties that he faces in defence after their 3-2 loss to West Ham in pre-season.

Meanwhile, Spurs are looking to send outcast Tanguy Ndombele to Turkey after holding talks with Galatasary over the player.
The French midfielder spent last season on loan with Napoli, where he won the Scudetto and featured in a the Champions League semi-finals.
However, after suffering an injury in pre-season and failing to integrate since then, Ndombele’s time at Spurs looks to finally be coming to an end.
The Frenchman joined Spurs for a club record fee of £55million in 2019.
