Serbia midfielder Nemanja Gudelj has provided a positive update on his brother’s condition after he collapsed during a Spanish third-division match. Dragisa Gudelj suffered the worrying scare as Cordoba faced Racing de Ferrol, but he is now on the mend and in high spirits.
The 25-year-old defender suffered a cardiac arrest after 10 minutes with the score at 1-1, leaving teammates in tears as he received CPR from paramedics on the pitch.
Gudelj regained consciousness as he was taken to an ambulance and even asked to continue playing at the Estadio Nuevo Arcangel.
However, he was taken to the Reina Sofia University Hospital for examinations and is now seemingly in good health.
On Sunday, Gudelj’s brother, who plays for Sevilla and represented Serbia at the 2022 World Cup, posted an image of him smiling with his thumbs up on Instagram.
He accompanied it with a heartfelt caption: “I want to express my sincere gratitude on behalf of myself and my family for the love and concern shown regarding Dragi’s health condition.

It remains to be seen whether he will be available for Monday’s second Euro 2024 qualifier against Montenegro.
