Zidane ‘approves transfer’ plan to sign Paul Pogba alternative at Real Madrid
Zinedine Zidane has approved the transfer plan to snap up 'the next Paul Pogba ' at Real Madrid.
It is a first sign that the Frenchman is ready to give up on his compatriot in the summer.
The Manchester United star looked set to move to the Bernabeu after a failed move last year.
His agent, Mino Raiola, continued to drum up interest throughout the campaign.
But recent reports state that the France international is prepared to perform a U-turn and sign a new contract.
That is to the dismay of Raiola, who wants his client to leave Old Trafford in the next transfer window.
However, it appears that the cracks are appearing on the other side of the deal with Real Madrid looking elsewhere.
According to Marca, Zidane has given the green light to sign 17-year-old Eduardo Camavinga.
The teenager has been touted as 'the next Pogba' and also provides a long-term solution to Casemiro.
Though the Brazil international is still only 28, by the time he reaches 33 he will be on the wane.

The hope is that Camavinga will be ready to step in at that point as a key member of the first-team at the age of 22.
Nevertheless, it is a sign that Zidane is ready to admit defeat over the Pogba pursuit.
That is despite the former Ballon d'Or winner pulling out all the stops in a bid to lure him to the Spanish capital.
Meanwhile, Marca report that an £80m price tag on Camavinga has knocked the wind out of Real's sails.
Rennes are desperate to keep hold of the hot prospect, who has a number of clubs watching him.
However, recent reports to the Bernabeu indicate that it may well end up being a lot less than this.
Camavinga was set for a call-up to the France squad this year but the coronavirus crisis has halted those plans.
