Cheltenham hope shares name with ‘milf’ porn star as jockey jokes about ‘riding’

Horse racing fans will be hoping for an exciting climax when Cheltenham Festival hopeful Brandy Love goes to post in March – not least because she shares her name with a 'milf' porn star.

Brandy Love, that's the six-year-old bay mare, not the 48-year-old adult actress, is currently an 8/1 shot for the Mares' Novice Hurdle and 14/1 poke for the Mares' Hurdle at the Festival.

Punters have latched on to the Festival favourite, and not just because she has a good chance of recording another Cheltenham win for top Irish trainer Willie Mullins.

Backers should watch out searching the horse's name on Google, though, because an innocent request for 'Brandy Love', throws up a good few results for 'milf' Brandi Love.

Try explaining that one away.

Racing fans aren't the only ones to realise the significance of the horse's name either.

Jockey Paul Townend appeared to know exactly what the joke was during a conversation with former Premier League centre-forward Kevin Doyle.

Doyle, who appeared in the top-flight for Reading and Wolves, has turned to breeding horses since hanging up his boots and asked Townend about his rides at the Festival.

He said: "Do you have any outsiders or one that's not as well known that you're looking forward to riding?"

Townend chortles back, "Brandy Love is one that I look forward to, uh…" before bursting into laughter.

Brandy Love is among the favourites for two races at Cheltenham in March.

The daughter of Jet Away is currently an 8/1 shot for the Mares' Novice Hurdle and 14/1 for the Mares' Hurdle.

She's in good form heading into the Festival, having recorded two wins from her three races under rules, including a ten-length rout in a 24-runner contest at Naas on December 16.

The Racing Post must be in on the joke too. They said she is one to 'get a little excited about' after her recent success under Townend.

Brandy Love is owned by Salford businessman Mike Grech, who purchased the horse for a whopping £200,000.

No doubt the layers will have a field day with her at Cheltenham.
