Group 1-winning mare Funstar will go under the hammer this month through the Inglis Digital Sale.
The Chris Waller-trained four-year-old will undoubtedly be an attractive breeding prospect with multiple stakes victories on her page.
Her career highlight came with a Group 1 win in the Flight Stakes at three while she also added a Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes during the same spring and Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes in the autumn.
She was a Group 1 runner up in both the Queen Of The Turf Stakes and Epsom Handicap but struggled to reach the same heights throughout the 2021 autumn.
“Any form analyst will tell you she was performing to an extremely high level throughout her career, she took on the best and beat the best,’’ owner Olly Koolman said.
“She’s one of those rare fillies that was undefeated at two – she was so precocious early on – but then trained on to be a magnificent older horse at three and four.
“She had speed and stamina and possesses all the right attributes to suggest she will make an outstanding broodmare.’’
A daughter of Cox Plate winner Adelaide, Funstar is a half-sister to Waller’s former Group 1 winner Youngstar.
Inglis last digital sale racked in more than $5m and was topped by recent The Phoenix winner Volcanic Rock, which was sold for $365,000.
Volcanic Rock, trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, was sold to Bulla Thoroughbreds.
The 2020 Dane Ripper Stakes winner Love You Lucy was also sold for $320,000.
