Sam Curran took his first five-wicket haul for England to help Eoin Morgan’s World Cup champions hammer Sri Lanka at The Oval and clinch the one-day international series with a game to spare.
Curran said: ‘It’s really special, to be playing in front of fans as well, it’s an awesome atmosphere, to get it on my home ground as well and get the win, it’s really cool.
‘The last couple of games and in the T20 series, the ball has swung consistently which is nice – I don’t know why, we haven’t changed anything but I’m not going to complain!
‘I feel like I’ve played a lot of cricket but I do feel like I’m learning in all the games I play in, picking people’s brains and just watching other guys and doing other roles.
‘Naturally, the more I play, the more I fail I guess, I keep learning from those experiences. I’ve been lucky I’ve been around the world, learning from different players.’
