Our experts give you an early shot at finding a winner this weekend.

Last week … Express Pass ($2.80) – Gilbert Gardiner.

Saturday: ROYAL RANDWICK (9 races, start 11.35am), EAGLE FARM (9 races, 11.43am), CAULFIELD (9 races, 11.50am), MORPHETTVILLE (9 races, 12.02pm), BELMONT (9 races, 1.58pm).

Check out their best and value bets:

RAY THOMAS (Daily Telegraph) Form: 24×22

ZING (Race 4, No.4 — $2.80)

Zing has reeled off successive minor placings in each of her three starts this campaign including her second behind Seentoomany here two weeks ago. She’s racing well, is effective on heavy tracks, enjoys Randwick and is drawn to get the right run. Zing should run a strong 1800m so surely this is her day.

Value bet: SWITCHED (Race 9, No.9 — $21)

SHAYNE O’CASS (Daily Telegraph) Form: x12

PERIGORD (Race 9, No.2 — $16)

Perigord showed that he was ready to keep his excellent fresh record intact here off his two trials, both of them seconds, the latest of them was his distant but unhurried second to Savatiano.

Value bet: SAMBRO (Race 6, No.7 — $19)

CLINTON PAYNE (Racenet) Form: 18x3x

ZOROCAT (Race 1, No.8 — $9.50)

How is this better than double each-way odds? Has the strongest form of the 11 runners coming into the race and we’re getting the big odds all because she doesn’t come out of one of the heavy hitting Sydney stables.

Value bet: THREEOOD (Race 6, No.8 — $6.50)

GILBERT GARDINER (Herald Sun). Form: 54221

I’M THUNDERSTRUCK (Race 5, No.6 — $1.95)

Walked in at Sale last start on heavy ground with jockey Mark Zahra impersonating a statue in the saddle. Conditions, distance, track and barrier all point towards another victory.

Value bet: DIAMONDS (Race 2, No.1 — $12)

CHRIS VERNUCCIO (Racing News Editor) Form: 19435

THE GAUCH (Race 9, No.14 — $2.80)

Resumed at Caulfield three weeks ago with a win he can build on here. Most of the opposition don’t have winning form.

Value bet: CANASTA (Randwick, Race 2, No.2 — $4.40)

I’m Thunderstruck has won two of his three starts and looks hard to beat again at Caulfield. Picture: Racing Photos via Getty ImagesSource:Getty Images

GLENN McFARLANE (Herald Sun) Form: 17143

I’M THUNDERSTRUCK (Race 5, No.6 — $1.95)

Lightly-raced talent who couldn’t have been more impressive first-up and will relish the step up in distance.

Value bet: CORNER POCKET (Race 8, No.11 — $2.60)

SIMON MOY (NewsRacing) Form: x1547

I’M THUNDERSTRUCK (Race 5, No.6 — $1.95)

Returned with dominant win at Sale. Drops in weight and shouldn’t have any issues with conditions.

Value bet: FIRST POSITION (Race 7, No.10 — $4.20)

NICK QUINN (TAB). Form: 14113

I’M THUNDERSTRUCK (Race 5, No.6 — $1.95)

Love this horse and he will be worth sticking with as he races through the grades.

Resumed from a spell with a dominant win at Sale and expect him to be better suited here with more race tempo.

Value bet: LADIES OF LONDON (Race 6, No.5 — $11)

TRENTON AKERS (Courier Mail). Form: x57814

MASS DESTRUCTION (Race 3, No.1 — $3.50)

Has been knocking on the door for some time now and gets his chance here where he drops down in grade. Has to concede 3kg to his nearest rival but has the perfect gate and is a proven performer at Eagle Farm which has been crucial throughout the winter carnival.

Value bet: FULLY MAXED (Race 5, No.6 — $9.00)

NATHAN EXELBY (Sky Racing). Form: 03119

SHOOTING FOR GOLD (Race 7, No.6 — $2.50)

Takes on the older horses first up after diving in deep over the summer carnival. Has always had plenty of ability but was always going to be better with time. Trialled up nicely in readiness for this and against this restricted class of opposition, he can be too classy on his way to better races.

Value bet: JEN RULES (Race 9, No.9 — $8.50)

JETT HATTON (Racenet) Form: 25215

TOFANE (Race 8, No.1 — $5.00)

The draw isn’t great but I’m sticking solid with Tofane after she saluted for us in the Stradbroke at a juicy price. Surely that is the best formline coming into this, she showed the Eagle Farm surface is no issue and both her runs at 1400m have resulted in Group 1 wins.

Value bet: EXHILARATES (Race 9, No.3 — $9.50)
