India crush England in final T20 to clinch series
India crushed England in the final and decisive fifth T20 international to clinch the series 3-2. The hosts set a monstrous target of 224, losing only two wickets, and although England started well they faded and came up well short, losing by 36 runs.
The India captain Virat Kohli was at his best, and his 80 from 52 balls left England with a huge challenge.
England responded well at first. Jos Buttler and the world’s No1 ranked T20 batsman Dawid Malan put together a promising partnership with both recording half centuries, but both were dismissed by Shardul Thakur and no other Englishman could surpass 14 runs.
