Without dropping a single set, Emma Raducanu clinched a glorious victory at the US Open final against Canadian tennis player Leylah Fernandez. 18-year-old Raducanu beat her opponent 6-4, 6-3 in the singles.

Where will Emma Raducanu place in the world ranking now?

The US Open tweeted on September 11 that Raducanu’s place in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) ranking will rise dramatically to No. 23.

Raducanu’s new place near the top of the leaderboard is a stratospheric rise for the tennis sensation, with Raducanu ranked world No 345 at the start of 2021.

Raducanu was ranked No 338 in the first round of Wimbledon earlier this year, before smashing through three rounds of the tournament with resounding success.

She beat Vitalia Diatchenko, Marketa Vondrousova and Sorana Cirstea in rounds one, two and three respectively.

But her Wimbledon dreams were dashed during her fourth-round match against Ajla Tomljanovic.

Raducanu retired from the match due to breathing difficulty, and following her exit her ranking was boosted to world No 179.

Raducanu reached the US Open ranked No 150, so her ranking will now move more than 100 places following her spectacular win at the US Open’s showdown final.
