Nick Kyrgios has vowed to continue calling out his fellow tennis stars even if it leaves him open to accusations of hypocrisy.
The controversial Australian star took a dim view of rival Novak Djokovic’s behaviour which resulted in his disqualification from the US Open last week after he struck a line judge with a ball.
Kyrgios, posted a poll on Twitter asking his followers how they felt he would have been dealt with had he been guilty of the same offence and was highly critical of the World No.1 earlier this year after the Adria Tour fiasco.
Th event, organised by Djokovic, ended in chaos with a number of players contracting Covid-19 after a carefree approach to social distancing was adopted.
‘I’m just trying to hold people accountable for their actions. You can’t compare what someone does off the court to on the court,’ Kyrgios said on Thursday.
‘When I see some people making mistakes, I’m not going to bring it up, but if they defend it and continually make the same mistakes, especially in a global pandemic, I’m going to say something about it.
