Nick Kyrgios has taken yet another jibe at Novak Djokovic with an Australian Open offer. The Aussie was speaking about the world No 1 on his podcast No Boundaries when he joked about a possible partnership with the Serb. The current world No 90 has previously admitted he doesn’t have “much respect” for Djokovic.

Kyrgios is currently enjoying the off-season at home in Australia.

He ended his season following the Laver Cup in September, after suffering with a knee injury for several months.

The 26-year-old had barely played since the pandemic began, returning at the Australian Open in February and only playing his first tournament abroad at Wimbledon in the summer.

He played four tournaments during the North American hard court swing, plus the Laver Cup, before calling time on his year to get treatment for left knee patella tendonopothy.

The former world No 13 has since been seen hitting on the practice court and training in the gym back home in Canberra, as he gears up for the new season and his home Grand Slam tournament in January.

Kyrgios has also taken on a new hobby away from tennis, launching a podcast with two of his friends.

The No Boundaries podcast is hosted by the six-time title winner and his friends, Alex Babanine and James Frawley.

In their second episode ‘GOAT talk’, released on Sunday (November 14), the trio discussed one of Kyrgios’ rivals, Djokovic.

Speaking of a shift in the world No 1’s attitude on court, the 26-year-old called him: “The evil Novak, the not-giving-a-f**k Novak,” saying he enjoyed seeing this side of Djokovic.

He then sarcastically made the nine-time Australian Open champion an offer for the 2022 edition of the tournament.

“Shout out Novak. Aus Open doubles baby?

“No I’m kidding bro. I wouldn’t do that to myself,” the world No 90 laughed.

While discussing who the GOAT of men’s tennis is, despite being a “ride-or-die” Federer fan, the world No 90 admitted that Djokovic would likely become the greatest player soon.

Kyrgios said: “Right now I’ll just say Fed, right now.

“The most influential player to ever play is Federer. And no other player really plays like Novak, Federer’s like, people imitating him. For God’s sake, I do his serve sometimes.

“If he wins another Slam, Novak’s [the GOAT].”
