– In the peaceful Polish countryside, an old house stands. Once owned by Mr. Jevey Rusek and his wife. According to local villagers, Mr. Jevey had drinking problems, which tore his family apart. He divorced his wife. And kept living in the house for many years. Until 2011. After developing significant health complications, this dearest man passed away and nobody took care of the house since. Today, we're exploring this forgotten place. It's like time stopped here. You can almost feel the sadness in the air, knowing that Mr. Rusek struggled with alcohol. But even within all the silence, there's something intriguing about the place. It's like a mystery waiting to be solved. Come along as we step into this old house, where every creak and crack tells a story. And who knows we'll uncover some more secrets of Mr. Rusek's troubled past. ♫ Explomo - Poland Series Opener ♫ – Okay, we just climbed inside this abandoned house. Cobwebs are all over the place because this place, nobody has walked here for a very long time. – Ever since 2002. – Ever since 2002. There are some explorers that have been here. A friend of ours took us here. It's a magnificent place right here in Poland. This is definitely something special. – And Remon, what actually happened to the owner that lived here? – Well, the owner had a drinking problem. Unfortunately, the man was drinking every day. He's not listening to his family,, like, "Hey, you need to quit this." "Hey, you need to stop this." And eventually he passed away. He lived here with his wife. She passed away earlier. And then, the man just departed the earth with drinking problems. It's a sad truth. And now, the place just left abandoned. And there is one big surprise in here. We will show it to you in a bit, but I'm glad to explore it. So, let's just go, man! – We're starting over here where we came in, and it looks like this was , some kind of a storage part. – People haven't been in here for a very long time. – And when we came in here, we needed a stick with a broom in order to wipe all the cobwebs away. – And as you can tell, over here we have the calendar, 2002. What is in there? An old... – Cell phone? – Yes, a "Philips" mobile phone. Very unique. – Then, we're continuing our way. And this was, actually, the main back door but they barricaded it. And there's also this kind of blanket that's covering it up. And one of my favorite things in this place is this old picture that's still there from the last residents. – Yes. So, like I said, the woman passed away earlier. And that's the man who, unfortunately, had drinking problems and he. eventually passed away, man. It's quite sad to see. Well, Mo, should we immediately give them the surprise? Because I do think... – This is actual paint. Is it? Yes, it's paint. – But what I said, because I do think this is the best part to do it. – Oh, my gosh! Electricity is still working in this place! And our friend says this is exceptional for Poland. – This is the surprise, well, sorry. – The first time we ever saw it in Poland that the electricity is still working. – When he explored this, he didn't try it. And I heard it, like, I heard , electricity is still running. – Running?. – Yes. I said like, "Hey, electricity still works over here, man." It has to be. And it is, it's quite crazy. And we have this religious frame, over here. – It's Mary with Jesus. – Yes. – And over here, you can still walk. But actually, our friend is upstairs, right over there. – Oh, really? – Yes, man. – How it is up there? – Come on. – So, this is Peter, right? – Yes. – We would say Piotr... – ...in the Netherlands.. – Welcome to Poland. "Pepol Urbex, Pepol?" – Yes, "Pepol Urbex." – Thanks for showing us around, man. – No problem. – It's very hot over here in the attic. – It is, I mean, it's like 30 degrees in Poland right now. It's a blurring summer. – Plenty of clothes over here. – Yes, they're all left. – A suitcase over there. – Oh, there are still parts , of a bicycle over here. Can you show it again? – All the clothes in the suitcase, I think. – Anyway, they were so well-packed, like they were trying to leave with them. – Yes, but eventually never did. Even some honeycombs over there. – Oh, yes, some beehives. – Some beehives, yes. It's cool, man. Well, let's... head back downstairs. That was quite unexpected. Because I heard him crawling upstairs. – I know you were saying that, I'm also hearing the electricity running in these parts. – To give you a better picture of how many,
cobwebs there were in here. – It's crazy! You don't want to walk in there. A toilet area. – Absolutely not. – And one other strange thing is on the ground, there are massive piles of droppings of an animal. Now, we've not seen an animal inside, yet. And another question is: How did this animal actually make its way inside here, in the first place? – Yes. Well, a water bottle. Ashtrays. Crystal in here, damn. Porcelain, as well. – What's actually in the little drawers? There's also plenty of stuff. – Yes. I didn't even see them, the little ones. – Well, that was the only one that was filled. It was down there at the bottom. – Yes, I think there's nothing too specific. It's also quite empty. There's this bottle of liquor, of course, you can see... – Wodka. – The man had drinking problems. – But we've not seen so many empty bottles. So, I think he actually brought them away again somewhere. I see a letter in here, though. – "Jevey Rusek", it's for. So, "Jevey" was his name. – "Jevey", okay. Well, that's another thing now we're in Poland. We've found some different names than usual. And not "Pedro" like we often find in Portugal. Or "Francois". – No. – Or "Louis" in France. Still, a lot of chairs over here. – Yes, man. – And I actually really like this corner. – Well, a religious corner over here. – Yes, a little religious corner. It's almost like a shrine. It's very beautiful. So, there is this other lace over here hanging with the quotes written in Polish, and it says, "When I actually prepare the dishes in the kitchen, everybody likes it." So, this was probably the mother of the family preparing the dishes for all the other people. Still, a stove over here. – This is— it's somewhere very warm, tropical. Okay, so— All right, so this was the sleeping part. Here you said, like: "Just be a little bit careful with the lights." – Oh, look at the vanity. – Yes. – It used to be a washing bowl as well. A little sofa. Plenty more droppings on the ground here. A lot of them. And check this out; also quite unique. – It's the pope. – Still, plants in front of the windowsill, as you can see. – A "Daewoo" television. That brand I do know. – And there are going to be. plenty of televisions in this place. Also, still, a TV antenna on top of this wardrobe. The wardrobe itself only , still contains this fur coat. – And it's real fur. Oh, yes, it definitely is. I do like the pattern, actually, over here. – Yes, and also the green walls. It's an unusual color to see in a place. And you can also really see the size of humidity and mold on the wall there. – I like the style of wall, too. And I do really like that the houses have a different, like, architecture; how they are built. – And it looks like we still got, plenty of things over here, in this cupboard. Well, a lot of knickknacks. It looks like there are also some medicines. – Yes, medicines, indeed. – And macaroni. – Yes. – Well, more droppings on the ground over here. And we do have another bed. Also, a very unique tapestry. – Yes. – Yes, in general, we were told by our friends, Polish people can have money. But in these areas in general, the people have relatively a little bit less money than the city people. – Yes. – And we are in the countryside currently. I think this place got abandoned around the festives, since there is still this Christmas lace over here. Oh, my gosh! This is some mayonnaise. It's completely dark. I'm also wondering why these kitchen things are actually placed right over here. – Yes, it's quite a strange place for it. – Because where is the actual kitchen? – I haven't seen it. – No, where did he prepare his dishes? I saw this electrical furnace standing there. So, maybe he just did it like that. But it looks like there was not. even a place for a specific kitchen. Which is really uncommon to see in Western Europe. – Over there, old shoes, definitely from his wife. – And the yoghurt, you can actually, find an expiry date in there. – Mh-hhm, '11. – 2011, okay. – Yes, 2011. Oh, this one's empty. – Okay, yes. – Have a look over here. – Whoa, "Franciszek". – "Franciszek", yes. – Wow, from 1962, that's precious! – Then, let's make our way to this room. I feel the cobwebs. – Whoa, this room is really messy. – Yes, this is quite messy. – Left in such a state of disarray. – True. There are some newspapers. What date can be seen?. – Some magazines— '79. – 1997. – '97, yes. Over here on a calendar, it also says 1997. Like, this room was not used anymore in the last days. – No, exactly. – Vodka? – Yes, vodka. The man definitely had a drinking problem. – And given that we are in Poland, we really need to drink one mixed drink with vodka tonight. – True. – We haven't done that, yet. – Look at this old soccer shoe. – Yes. It looks like they were . still working on this room. Like, it looks really unfinished,. the walls and everything. The ceiling. It really looks like they . were still working on here Or they maybe just use it as a shed, I really don't know. But it's actually quite a mess. – It is a mess. – But look at this chair. – Yes, that looks quite comfortable, actually. – Also the chair is unfinished; .
the arms are missing. – Another old newspaper, 1997. – And there are also two televisions, so, that makes four televisions , in total, in this place. – Yes, quite strange, right? Amethyst, is the brand. – All right, man, I'm just going to put the camera up here. – Yes. – And... I'm also going to put off my mask. – Yes, man, you can just , tell there're shoes and... – I really even have to be careful where I'm actually going to stand. This actually wraps it up for, this exploration, guys. Yes, the homes in Poland are different. Like, different style, more plain, more basic. But, again, they also have their own charm and especially, also, finding , the religious artifacts. And seeing that old picture of the couple was beautiful! And the fact electricity was still running. – Yes, that was quite crazy, that electricity was still running, I mean, I could turn on more lights, but a friend of ours also said, like, "Yes, please just don't do that." – Yes, because he told us that people in Poland, actually, do not like urban exploring in general. – Yes. – So, Remon asked a simple question, "Is exploring over here now dangerous?" And he said like, "Mmm, yes, it is; people just don't like it." So, we have to be cautious as much as we can, of course. – We will see. But everything will be fine. I mean, this place is 100% abandoned, for sure. I mean, look at it, come on. I really enjoyed it. And indeed, like Maureno said, it has some charm. And in my opinion, if you really think like, "Damn, there is not much to see. This is so boring." Then you don't like true exploring. Because this is a different country, people live differently over here. Pretty plain, pretty basic, but still so unique that's what I said. Like, the architecture and. how it looks from the inside is so different. I've never seen that before and that really excites me. So, I hope it did as well for you.
