Formula 1 fans were in bits after catching George Russell's brilliant reaction to a question about Red Bull ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix.

Both Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez were knocked out in Q3 on Saturday, meaning that the two Red Bull drivers were bumped low down on the grid for Sunday's race. Liam Lawson, meanwhile, who races for Red Bull's sister team Alpha Tauri, secured 10th spot, ahead of both Verstappen and Perez.

While doing some press ahead of the race alongside Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jr, Russell glanced cheekily at his Ferrari counterparts after a reporter noted that Lawson was "the only Red Bull driver in the top 10" before smirking directly into the camera.

A third added: "Can't help but love those two [Russell and Leclerc]," while a fourth commented: "F1 has just found its latest meme." Another said: "Makes it even funnier considering Sainz is a former Red Bull driver."

The qualifiers were filled with drama as not only did Verstappen and Perez perform uncharacteristically poorly, but Lance Stroll also wrecked his Aston Martin following a high-speed crash in Q2. The 24-year-old walked away from the crash relatively unharmed but was subsequently pulled from the race as a safety precaution.

In a statement released on Sunday morning, Aston Martin Team Principal Mike Krack said: "The whole team are relieved that Lance was able to step out of the car after yesterday’s accident – however, he is still feeling the after-effects of such a high-impact crash.
