Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana says he \u2018let the team down\u2019 after accepting full responsibility for his error in the defeat to Bayern Munich.<\/p>\n

After a bright start at the Allianz Arena, Onana was at fault with Leroy Sane\u2019s shot squirming underneath him to give the hosts the lead after 28 minutes.<\/p>\n
After exchanging passes with Harry Kane, the former Manchester City star let fly with a shot that was straight at the Cameroon international who failed to make what should have been a straight forward save.<\/p>\n
After a second Bayern goal through Serge Gnabry, United responded in the second-half with Rasmus Hojlund scoring his first goal for the club. <\/p>\n
Harry Kane restored the two-goal lead shortly after and while United scored late on twice through Casemiro, Bayern remained in control of the Champions League group opener, sealing a 4-3 win.<\/p>\n
Onana put himself up for media duty after a difficult evening in Germany and admitted United were unable to stay in the game because of his mistake.<\/p>\n
\u2018It is difficult. We started very good but after my mistake we lost control of the game,\u2019 Onana told TNT Sport.<\/p>\n

\u2018It is frustrating for us, for me especially because I am the one who let the team down.<\/p>\n
\u2018The team was good, we didn\u2019t win this game because of me. we have to move forward. this is what it is like as a goalkeeper.\u2019<\/p>\n
Onana, who arrived at Old Trafford this summer in a \u00a347million deal from Inter Milan as a long-term replacement for David de Gea, admitted Wednesday was one of his \u2018worst games\u2019 since joining the club.<\/p>\n
\u2018I have a lot to prove,\u2019 he said. \u2018My start in Manchester hasn\u2019t been so good, not how I want. This was one of my worst games. We have big ambition.<\/p>\n
\u2018It\u2019s a tough time. We have to be together and work hard.\u2019<\/p>\n
