Nader Mohammadi hasn't always covered himself in glory with his patented front-flip throw in – and the Iranian star infamously bottled it, twice, with the eyes of the world watching at the World Cup.

However, a clip of Mohammadi pulling off the acrobatic act has resurfaced online. And the full-back shows fans exactly how well he can launch a football.

Back in March, Mohammadi was turning out for Zob Ahan Esfahan as they took on Esteghlal FC in the Persian Gulf Pro League. And sensing a counter-attack, Mohammadi pulled off his trademark front-flip throw-in.

Mohammadi cannoned the ball, from deep inside his own-half, across the half-way line and past the Esteghlal defence. The acrobatic throw left team-mate Mohammadhossein Eslami one-on-one with keeper.

However, Eslami wasn't able to find the net, despite rounding the Esteghlal keeper, and it would cost Zob Ahan Esfahan – who lost the game 2-0. But fans have still compared Mohammadi to Rory Delap.

"Rory Delap would be proud," one fan joked. While a second questioned: "How’s he done that then?"

Delap was famed for his long throw-ins while he played for Stoke City in the Premier League. Visitors to the Britannia Stadium were often left dumbfounded about how to defend the set-piece.

However, Stoke players would feast on the chaos, finding the net as the ball ricocheted around the penalty area as the opposition looked on aghast.
