The Welsh football club&#8217;s co-owner intervened to help the couple, which has since been documented on a recent episode of &#8220;Welcome to Wrexham.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The latest episode of the docuseries that charts the club&#8217;s progress under Reynolds and Rob McElhennery&#8217;s ownership highlighted the period in which Forde&#8217;s wife was diagnosed with the tumour.<\/p>\n<p>The 29-year-old took a two-month break from the team to deal with the issue, which arose just weeks after his son, Paddy, was born.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow could I go out and perform when I have something so serious in the back of my head?&#8221; he said earlier in the docuseries after hearing the news. &#8220;It would have been unfair on myself and the team. The support we have had from the club has been amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.images.express.co.uk\/img\/dynamic\/67\/590x\/secondary\/5058209.jpg?r=1699555004675\"><\/p>\n<p>Forde went on to claim in a recent episode that the news had filtered down to Reynolds. The co-owner was quick to lend a helping hand and paid for Laura to get a second opinion on the diagnosis.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It just didn&#8217;t feel like it was real,&#8221; he said on episode 14 of the show. &#8220;The gaffer told the owners about the news and they reached out. Ryan helped get a second opinion. The match was a pivotal tie coming late in the season, which saw the Irishman score in a 3-0 win.<\/p>\n<p>Wrexham went on to win the National League with 111 points, breaking a new record for the most points earned in a season. The title win was the club&#8217;s first in 45 years and saw a dramatic return to League Two after a 15-year absence.<\/p>\n<p>Wrexham have enjoyed a successful start to the season with eight wins, six draws and two defeats so far.
