Welcome to Wrexham season 2 official trailer

Ryan Reynolds has been praised after coming to the aid of Wrexham AFC star Anthony Forde following his wife Laura’s brain tumour diagnosis. The Welsh football club’s co-owner intervened to help the couple, which has since been documented on a recent episode of “Welcome to Wrexham.”

The latest episode of the docuseries that charts the club’s progress under Reynolds and Rob McElhennery’s ownership highlighted the period in which Forde’s wife was diagnosed with the tumour.

The 29-year-old took a two-month break from the team to deal with the issue, which arose just weeks after his son, Paddy, was born.

“How could I go out and perform when I have something so serious in the back of my head?” he said earlier in the docuseries after hearing the news. “It would have been unfair on myself and the team. The support we have had from the club has been amazing.”

Forde went on to claim in a recent episode that the news had filtered down to Reynolds. The co-owner was quick to lend a helping hand and paid for Laura to get a second opinion on the diagnosis.

“It just didn’t feel like it was real,” he said on episode 14 of the show. “The gaffer told the owners about the news and they reached out. Ryan helped get a second opinion. It’s something that he doesn’t have to do, he doesn’t have to do that.”

Following the second opinion it was revealed that the location of the tumour made it inoperable, news which the couple claimed was the “best-case scenario.” In a recent Instagram post, Laura revealed that there had been no growth in the tumour.
