Erling Haaland suffered an injury scare on international duty with Norway – just nine days before Manchester City host Liverpool.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The striker twisted his ankle after coming on in a 2-0 friendly win over the Faroe Islands, although he carried on until the end.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It is his second ankle issue this month after he came off at half-time in the 6-1 demolition job of Bournemouth on November 4.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He told Pep Guardiola that the initial pain had subsided 24 hours after that incident but looked in considerable pain again against the Faroe Islands.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Norway team doctor Ola Sand told TV2: ‘It was much of the same that happened against Bournemouth a week-and-a-half ago. He has had it before too.<\/p>\n

The Man City striker had come on for Norway in a 2-0 friendly win against the Faroe Islands<\/p>\n

‘He gets a slight twist in his ankle, where he is a bit vulnerable. It hurts a lot right away, and then it goes away pretty quickly. Then we’ll see tomorrow how he is then.<\/p>\n
‘Now he will receive some treatment, then there will be peace and rest and then we will see how he is tomorrow morning.<\/p>\n
The national side has already been in touch with City and Haaland was monitored by the club’s sports therapist, Mario Pafundi, who usually travels with him on international duty.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Norway have a trip to Scotland on Sunday in their final Euro qualifier but it is a dead rubber as they cannot catch Spain or Scotland in the group.\u00a0<\/p>\n
City will hope to have Haaland back for the top-of-the-table clash against Liverpool because he has been in blistering form again this season.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He has 17 goals in 18 games this campaign and has scored two in five career face-offs against the Reds.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Premier League champions top the table but sit just a point ahead of Liverpool, their nearest rivals at the moment.<\/p>\n
