Lewis Hamilton apologised to\u00a0Mercedes\u00a0after an eventful Las Vegas Grand Prix that saw him recover from a tyre puncture to finish seventh. The Brit dropped all the way down the grid before storming back into the points, but ultimately will have hoped to claim more points in Nevada.<\/p>\n
Hamilton apologised to the Silver Arrows after a disappointing qualifying session saw him eliminated in Q2 and start the race lower down the grid than he would have hoped for.<\/p>\n
“Apologies to the whole team for qualifying yesterday,” Hamilton told Sky Sports F1. “There are strengths within our car but sometimes sometimes sometimes it’s just really difficult to get the performance out of it.”<\/p>\n
He reflected on a race that saw him drop to P19 after a collision with McLaren’s Oscar Piastri saw him suffer a puncture, in a moment that even saw race winner Max Verstappen fume at the Brit over the Red Bull team radio.<\/p>\n

I got a big hit from someone behind, I think it was Carlos [Sainz], and tried to not hit the cars that had spun around. I fell back five or six places.<\/p>\n “Then after that just making my way back. I was feeling great, the tyres were feeling good, the pace was strong. I went up the inside of Piastri, I don’t really know exactly what happened, I obviously got the hit from behind. I think it was a racing incident.”<\/p>\n\n
