Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has put his mansion up for sale following the death of his wife. The legendary Scot has decided to put his house on the market six weeks after his beloved life partner, Cathy, passed away in October, and the property has been listed with an eye-watering price.

Ferguson, 81, had lived in the stunning mansion based in Wilmslow, Cheshire with his wife Cathy before she tragically passed away on October 7.

The couple were married for 57 years and had three children – all sons – as well as 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Lady Cathy, who was 84, was laid to rest as mourners gathered at St Andrew’s Cathedral to pay tribute at her funeral in Glasgow, Scotland.

A matter of five weeks later, the five-bedroom property has been put up for sale with an asking price of £3.5million on well-known property websites as Ferguson may be looking to downsize.
