Stelling has been away from TV screens after he stepped down from his role as the host of Soccer Saturday. He was replaced by Simon Thomas, who has been well received by fans.

Through teary eyes, Stelling waved goodbye to Soccer Saturday in May: "It's been absolutely wonderful. It's been the best job that anybody could possibly have wished for. My wife takes great pleasure in saying 'you are the luckiest man ever to take a breath.' And you know what – and I don't tell her this often – she's right.'

What do you think of Jeff Stelling returning to TV screens? Let us know in the comments section

"The principal success was Soccer Saturday and I just want to say this before I go. You lot at home have given us unswerving support both for the programme and for me personally. Soccer Saturday will be back next season, and I'll be watching from home. From me, goodbye."

Stelling will be joined by the likes of Dan Walker on Amazon, who will make his presenting debut on live Premier League football. Thierry Henry, Alan Shearer, Patrice Evra, Michael Owen, Eni Aluko, Roberto Martinez, Jermain Defoe and Stuart Pearce will all appear as pundits.
