Postecoglou hails Richarlison as Tottenham beat Newcastle

Tottenham reportedly want to add another Juventus star to their ranks by sealing a January move for Matias Soule, reports in Italy claim. Spurs have signed several players from the Serie A club and could once again make the most of Juve’s financial struggles.

The north Londoners signed Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur from the Turin outfit in January 2022. Three more potential deals between the two clubs have since been mooted.

English winger Samuel Iling-Junior has been linked with a return to the Premier League, with Spurs supposedly keen. Left-back Andrea Cambiaso has reportedly also attracted attention from Ange Postecoglou’s side.

Spurs could now reportedly sign midfielder Soule after being offered the 20-year-old. They will supposedly face competition from London rivals Crystal Palace.

According to journalist Fabio Santini speaking to Italian channel TV Play, Soule could be available for around £17m in January. Spurs would need to lure the Argentina U20 international away from his loan spell with Serie A side Frosinone.

Soule’s versatility could be beneficial to Spurs. The youngster can play in midfield or anywhere across the forward line.

He has scored six goals in 14 matches for his loan club this season. Juventus did not use him before his loan spell was completed in the summer window, meaning he would be able to play for Spurs this season should he complete a move as he has not played for FIFA’s maximum of two clubs in a single campaign.

Spurs are expected to be busy in the January transfer window. An injury crisis has derailed the club’s shock title charge, with Postecoglou’s side now fifth in the Premier League.

A centre-back will likely lead Spurs’ priorities heading into the new year. Micky van de Ven’s impressive start to life in England was curtailed when he suffered a hamstring injury. The Dutchman will be absent until the new year.
