Fair play to Mary Earps but there were 10 other players in that team. #SPOTY23&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Can I ask why Mary Earps has won SPOTY? What\u2019s she done apart from save a pen in a major competition????? BBC snobbery means deserved winners like Ronnie O\u2019 Sullivan never get a look in,&#8217; one fan queried.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;#SPOTY being won by Mary Earps is a bit of a joke\u2026 they didn\u2019t even qualify for the Olympics,&#8217; another user pointed out.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>One user wrote: &#8216;Of course Mary Earps won. What a joke. Completely undeserved #BBCSPOTY&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;#maryearps wins #SPOTY23 for helping England win nothing. It\u2019s not been the easiest journey, I wouldn\u2019t be here without the help of so many, people who have been with me through the really not so great times. I have done more than I can ever have imagined.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Earps played every minute in England\u2019s run to the World Cup final, conceding only four times.
