Trippier has been one of the Premier League&#8217;s best full-backs since returning to England with the Magpies, who he captained to a top-four finish at the end of last season.<\/p>\n<p>Trippier becomes the second successive Newcastle player to claim the award after Bruno Guimaraes was crowned the winner in 2022. He has contributed with 10 league assists over the last 12 months, taking just 14 games this season to equal his total from the whole of the previous campaign.<\/p>\n<p>The England defender&#8217;s brilliant year was enough for him to claim the award ahead of Manchester City striker Haaland, who finishes as the runner-up after smashing plenty of records in his debut Premier League season. The towering Norwegian forward has bagged 43 goals in 2023 so far, making him the leading scorer in Europe&#8217;s top five leagues ahead of the festive period.<\/p>\n<p>Bellingham, meanwhile, finishes in third place after losing out to Haaland by just three votes.
